Nico Gori, born in Florence on September 13, 1975, started studying clarinet at the age of 6, graduating from the L.Cherubini Conservatory in Florence in 1993.
He began studying both saxophones and piano in 1985 and obtained the 5th year diploma in 1994.
In 2003 he obtained the Jazz Music Diploma, under with the guidance of Prof. M.Grossi, at the P.Mascagni Conservatory in Livorno. He continued to perfect his art by attending seminars held by famous musicians such as D.Liebman, T. Scott etc., performing, since 1987, in theatres, clubs, festivals, and on RAI Television broadcasts. He has held many concerts as a soloist as well as performing in big bands, symphonic orchestras, jazz bands both as leader or as sideman passing from classical music to jazz, from funky music to acid jazz. He has recorded, since 1998, with many jazz, funk and pop groups as well as collaborating in the realization of jingles and tunes for TV.
Since 1999 he has been collaborating with famous musicians such as A.Salis, B.Tommaso, M.Manzi, P.Dalla Porta, S.Bollani, E.Rava, R. Gatto, P. Silvesti, M.Tamburini, E.Bandini, A.Tavolazzi, M.Grossi, M.Moriconi, S.Gibellini, O.R.T., Chicago Underground, J.Faber, D. Thomas and pop singers such as A.Oxa, Dirotta su Cuba, F.Concato, G.Paoli etc.

In 2002 he has recorded with T. Ghiglioni, A. Fabbri, A. Di Puccio, S. Bollani and P.Silvestri the CD “Concertone” for the Label Bleu label; “Barga Jazz Big Band” with P. Fresu, L.Konitz, G.Trovesi and others. In 2003 he has recorded his first jazz album as a leader with M.Moriconi, S.Gibellini and E.Bandini – special guest R.Sellani - N. Gori 4et “Groovin’ High” for the Philology label.

In 2001 he held a course on jazz improvisation with M.Tamburini e L.Marianini at the “P.Mascagni Conservatorio in Livorno.

In 2003 he was invited to hold a seminar and three concerts in the Washington University in S.Louis, U.S.A., performing with American artists such as T.Kennedy, P.Williams etc.

In March 2004 he was called to hold several seminars and concerts in Turkey with his own Quartet for the Italian Cultural Institute in Ankara and Istanbul, during the Italian Jazz Week in Turkey. He has been a member of Stefano Bollani’s New Quintet since 2004, performing in Festivals and Theatres all over the world: Umbria Jazz in Melbourne (Australia), Dinan Jazz Festival (Belgium), Umbria Jazz in Jugoslavia, Umbria Jazz Summer 2005, Dunkerque (France), Ischia Jazz Festival, Festival della letteratura in Mantova etc.

In 2005 he recorded with S.Bollani Quintet the double CD “I Visionari”, with M.Feldman, P. Magoni e P.Fresu as special guest performers, for the French label Label Bleu. He collaborated, again with S. Bollani, on the projects: “Nuvole”, with M. de Muru, P. Magoni, A. Tavolazzi ecc. and the new edition of “Fanfole” with S. Bollani and M. Altomare.
Since 2005 Nico Gori is the leader of a Quartet formed by French musicians, frequently performing all over Europe, and has recorded a soon-to-be-released CD for the Double Stroke Record label.

Nico Gori is also a member of an Italian-Hungarian Quartet with the well known musicians K.Olah, J. Egri and P.Borri. Since 2004 he has been leader, along with S. Onorati, of the “Millenovecento” Quartet with E. Fioravanti and F. Nesti, partecipating in important festivals ( Grey Cat festival, Vivere Jazz , Festival di Mantova, Castano in Jazz etc.).
The quartet has recorded their debut CD for the Double Stroke Records label, with the same name “Millenovecento”.

In 2006 he became soloist clarinet and first alto sax in the Vienna Art Orchestra conducted by Mathias Ruegg.
